The fourth installment of the Design for Manufacturing course focuses on project management. Project management is incredibly hard to do and takes a lifetime to master. The best thing to do is get out there and practice it. In the lecture we’ll spend a little time walking you through some basic principles but we would really encourage you to get your hands dirty as you’ll learn a tremendous amount that way.

It’s hard to make out the acronyms on slide 6 under the supply chain section, what are they and what do they stand for?

Hey Nick – Most of those things would refer to typical stages in production. While on that chart, they’re specific to that particular customer, the most common terms are covered in this overview on manufacturing terms. As well, our friends at Bolt released this blog today which would also be relevant.
